Our Journey Through the Years
Since its inception, Harriman United Methodist Church has been a beacon of faith and community in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Our timeline highlights the significant milestones that have shaped our congregation’s rich history.
1918
Founding of People’s Church of Harriman
In 1918, a group of dedicated believers came together to form the People’s Church of Harriman, laying the foundation for what would become a vibrant community of faith.
1923
Acquisition of Church Land
The congregation purchased land at the corner of Wilson Avenue and Harrison Street, marking the beginning of a permanent home for our church community.
1924
Cornerstone Ceremony
The cornerstone for our church building was laid, symbolizing the strength and unity of our congregation as we embarked on our spiritual journey together.
1964
Completion of Current Church Building
Our present church building was completed, providing a welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and community outreach for generations to come.
