It was in 1918 when the People’s Church of Harriman in the Borough of Bristol, Pennsylvania was formed by the UMCA under the leadership of William P. Snape, a former Congregationalist Minister.

On March 17, 1923, lots 221-228 on the corner of Wilson Avenue and Harrison Street were purchased for the purpose of erecting a church building. On January 19, 1924, the cornerstone was laid.

The church was incorporated as “The Harriman Methodist Church” in March of 1941 and the present church building was completed in 1964.

Harriman Christian Day School was started in 1969 and has been serving the community and the surrounding area for over 50 years. Our day school can boast of receiving excellent reviews and continues to serve the community and beyond.

Our church participates in the Shared Meal Program known at Harriman as S.O.M.E. (So Others May Eat). All are invited to eat and we serve an average of 75 people each month.

Further, we serve the community by opening our doors on a weekly basis to the following: Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Mothers & Others (Quilters), Girl Scouts, 4H Club, Fuzzy Buddies, 4-H Rabbit and Cavy Club.

Our members volunteer and give support to many initiatives and groups, throughout the year, such as Emergency Relief Association, Bristol MLK Day of Service, etc.

Today, we are a multi-age and diverse congregation in the Borough of Bristol, Pennsylvania for the past 100 years!
Our church will continue on a ‘Journey of Faith”for many years to come for we have truly come ‘This Far By Faith.”To God be the glory
